About

Yesterday - Building Relationships

The National Insurance Agency was established in 1927 by W.R. Long as a multi-line agency. In 1958, via its General Agency with NWNL, it became an administrator for a new concept in association plans: individual policy contracts, instead of cancelable group certificates. The unique nature of these new plans made them very popular with Kentucky's Dentists, Doctors, Lawyers, CPA's and Engineers, as well as professionals across the country with other administrators.

In 1987, the NIA purchased the A. P. Lee Agency, which administered franchise disability programs for the associations of these same professionals. The coverage was again unique in its use of guaranteed renewable products which provided features similar to "non-can" coverage. Separate "non-can" products have been under endorsement with the KBA, KDA & LBA.

Today, Life, Disability, Overhead Expense, Employee, and Long Term Care Insurance programs are available for members of the KBA, JCMS, KyCPA, KSPE, KDA, KMA, Indiana Attorneys and Physicians.

Today - Member Services

The principle strength of the National Insurance Agency lies in our ability to service association members. Our over 7,500 Insureds enjoy a unique Plan Administrator relationship. Administration, billings and claims are handled in Louisville, directly from our office. Our member services staff knows the professional association member, their needs, and their concerns.

Our representatives understand the importance of these relationships and take great pride in the way our business is conducted. Each representative is actively engaged in significant continuing education or had already received meaningful professional designations.

Our goal is to provide our associations and their members with products that combine pricing, quality and underwriting advantages not available to them in the ordinary marketplace. In addition, we provide the personal service necessary to make these products complete.

Tomorrow - Change Is Certain

The known constant in our world is change. How will your association and its members fare when change occurs?

Our relationships with the leading companies in the association insurance market, and other respected association plan administrators, have proven especially valuable to our clients at these times.

The National Insurance Agency's principals are actively involved in industry groups and the companies we represent. They are currently on the National Advisory Council of the American Institute of Professional Association Group Insurance Administrators, the Agents Advisory Council of US Life Insurance Company, and a President of Mid-American Association of Group Administrators.
